Let’s capture the feelings of working onsite but within the studio. The first half of this workshop will cover working from photographic references (not portraits) to develop greater skills of observation and simplification, in order to quickly transfer the elements of a reference photo to the canvas or paper. The goal is to improve compositions through assessing the value scale. The second half of the workshop will focus on value, color, and edges. The objective this time is to create an artistic painting rather than simply rendering the photograph. This workshop is designed for beginning to advanced painters in both oil and acrylic media using a limited palette.
